Haircuts and Services

  • Do I need an appointment?

    Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance to ensure your preferred stylist and time. Walk-ins are welcome if availability allows.

  • What ages do you serve?

    We welcome kids of all ages, from baby's first haircut to stylish teens.

  • How long does a haircut take?

    Most haircuts take 15–30 minutes depending on your child’s age, comfort level, and hair type.

  • What if my child is nervous or has sensory sensitivities?

    We offer a private sensory room designed to provide a calming, low-stimulation environment. Our specially trained stylists adapt to each child’s needs, including floor play, tool demos, and lots of patience.

  • I need a sensory appointment but don’t see any available. Can I just book a regular appointment instead?

    We completely understand how important it is to find the right fit for your child. Sensory appointments are only handled by stylists who have received specialized training and have experience working with sensory-sensitive children. If no sensory appointments are showing as available, it means that one of our trained stylists is not available at that time. We recommend checking back soon or reaching out—we're happy to help find a time that works!

  • Do you offer first-haircut keepsakes?

    Yes! Our first haircut experience includes a lock of hair, a keepsake card, a special treat, a memorable photo, and lots of love.

Special Services

  • Do you do braiding or fun styles?

    Yes! Our team loves doing braids, glitter, updos, and fun styles for parties, photos, and school spirit days.

  • Do you offer group services or events?

    We sure do! Braiding classes and photo pop-ups, we love creating memorable experiences.

Cleanliness and Safety

  • How do you keep the salon clean?

    Cleanliness is one of our core values. We sanitize tools, stations, and high-touch areas between every guest. You will feel the difference!

  • Do you use kid-safe products?

    Yes! We use only clean, gentle, and kid-friendly products, including Dabble & Dollop for bath and styling.

Stylist Info

  • Can I request a specific stylist?

    Absolutely. Each of our stylists has a bio on the booking site so you can choose who is the best fit for your child.

  • Do you have stylists who specialize in curly or textured hair?

    Yes! We have several stylists experienced with curls, coils, and textured styles. Let us know what you’re looking for, and we will match you up.

Booking and Policies

  • How do I book an appointment?

    Easy! Head to vagaro.com/theknottykids to book online.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or reschedules so we can offer the spot to another family. Appointments not canceled 24 hrs prior could be subject to a 50% fee of the service booked.

  • Do you accept tips?

    Yes, tips are always appreciated and can be added during checkout or given directly to your stylist.
